Walter J. Brasch, CPA, CGMA

Walter brings more than 30 years of executive experience in the accounting and business advisory industry to Whitman Transition Advisors. He possesses a successful track record in leadership roles at several top 100 CPA firms.

He was an audit partner at several firms servicing a variety of business, tax exempt and regulated industry clients for over 20 years. As such, Walter’s expertise has frequently been requested by many his former clients, regulators, legislative leaders and other leaders/Managing Partners in the accounting profession.  He is a leading advisor and advocate to the New Jersey business community.

Walter is a trusted advisor to boards and  audit committees on matters of corporate governance, independence, internal and external audit quality issues, internal controls over financial reporting, risk assessments, executive compensation and finance/business operations.  He has significant experience advising clients on accounting and related business issues, including budgeting, operations improvement, cost containment, forecast and projections, business plans, rate  proposals, financing alternatives, negotiations and litigation matters.

Walter is the Chief Success Officer at Prager Metis. Before joining Whitman Transition Advisors, Walter served as a Partner and Chief Business Development Officer at PKF O’Connor Davies. Prior to that role he served as a Regional Managing Partner at Parente Beard LLC (now Baker Tilly) where he oversaw substantial revenue and profitability growth cultivating trusted long-standing relationships with CEOs, board chairs and other key decision-makers throughout the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area.

Earlier positions include Partner in Charge of Business Development at Wiss and Company LLC as well as Managing Partner at Lipman, Selznick & Witkowski, where he orchestrated significant growth through the acquisition of prominent audit and consulting practices. He launched his career with Deloitte and Touché.

He and his wife Ann reside in Little Silver, New Jersey and have a son, a daughter and four grandchildren.
