WHITMAN BUSINESS ADVISORS ADDS MARTIN COOPERMAN, FORMER REGIONAL MANAGING PARTNER OF GRANT THORNTON, TO CONSULTING TEAM

Whitman Business Advisors LLC (www.whitmanbiz.com/advisors)  is pleased to announce Martin Cooperman, a former Senior Partner at Grant Thornton as the newest addition to the Whitman team of CPA industry experts.

The addition of Cooperman allows Whitman Business Advisors CPA firm clients to access and benefit from the strategic and operational capabilities that Marty has been bringing to his clients and Grant for 40 years.

Since retiring from Grant in 2010, Marty has consulted with accounting firms and other organizations. While he has a particular focus on the linkage between delivering outstanding client service and improving realization and profitability, he has helped clients in areas of overall strategy development and execution, driving growth, new business development, client loyalty and retention, and partner compensation.

As Northeast Region Managing Partner, Marty drove the growth and profitability of the region which included New York, Boston and Philadelphia. In addition, to his regional responsibilities, Marty also led or participated in several firm-wide committees and initiatives including the Client Experience Council (Chair), Senior Associate Advisory Council (Chair), Risk Management Committee, Knowledge Sharing Steering Committee and Best Practices Task Force (Co-Chair). Marty was also a National Industry Leader for Grant’s Manufacturing/Distribution practice.

Marty joined Grant in 1975 and became a partner in 1986. In 1999 he was appointed Managing Partner of Grant’s New York office, and in 2003 he was promoted to Northeast Region Managing Partner, a role he served in until his retirement in 2010. During his time at Grant he helped develop the firm-wide strategies and tactics that doubled the size of the firm.
